Go the Distance Challenge – Palmer Park, Reading Thursday 13th March 9am – 3pm

The Hunter Community Outreach Charity CIC https://huntercommunityoutreach.org/has recently been established to raise funds for five local causes/charities which promote inclusivity.  An initial fundraising activity is being held on Thursday 13th March between 9am – 3pm – at Palmer Park Stadium Reading called “Go the Distance Challenge”.
Individuals, groups or companies are invited to walk, run, jog, push sports wheelchairs or own day chairs or bikes – we have hired bikes from Palmer Park for the event – around the Palmer Park athletics track as many times as you want or for as long as you want, and raise money for the main charity. All funds raised will be split between all five groups we are supporting, which are:
  • Berkshire Brigands, a mixed-ability rugby team; the
  • Berkshire Banshees Wheelchair Rugby Club, offering opportunities for individuals with physical impairments to engage in wheelchair rugby;
  • Sport Together Berkshire, championing inclusivity in sports;
  • Reading Mencap, providing vital support for individuals with learning disabilities and their families;
  • The Avenue School in Reading, a specialist school nurturing children with complex needs.
